The first wife of Eldar Ryazanov was the director Zoya Fomina. For many years the couple were together and raised their daughter Olga, but over time their relationship got worse and worse.
As it turned out, one of the reasons for the discord was the director’s new acquaintance Nina Skuybina. Ryazanov was imbued with her tragic story: for several years she cared for her husband Vladimir, whose life was taken by an incurable disease. And the director was so amazed by the dedication that he decided to support Nina.
Almost immediately, a romance began between new acquaintances. Skuibina was not embarrassed that Ryazanov was married and was raising a daughter, and the director was not embarrassed that his lover already had an adult son, Nikolai. For several years they maintained a secret romance, and got married only after the director’s divorce.
Together Skuibina and Ryazanov lived for 25 years. They supported each other in everything and did not hide their happiness, but in 1994, Skuybina’s life was taken away by stomach cancer.
