The Tragic Life of Irina Pechernikova: From Fame to Alcoholism and Personal Tragedies

After alcoholism and personal tragedies, it was scary to look at her.

The bright and talented actress Irina Pechernikova, who played many great roles, lived a very difficult and even tragic life. On her way were not only fame and success. She learned what it means to be unhappy in marriage, to be forgotten in the profession, to have a big problem with alcohol and to bury those closest to her. No one would dare to call such a fate easy and cloudless.

Irina was born in an ordinary Soviet family in Chechnya, but soon they moved to the capital. And after graduation, the girl went to study at the Moscow Art Theater School. Her acting career did not start right away, because for shooting during training it was possible to fly out of the studio. However, the very first role – Donna Anna in the film “The Stone Guest” – turned out to be the main one, and the girl was immediately noticed.

After that, Irina began working at the Lenkom Theater, where her partners were such stars as Durov, Gaft, Dzhigarkhanyan, Derzhavin and others. Up went and a career in cinema. Pechernikova starred in the films We’ll Live Until Monday, Two Captains, Martin Eden, etc. But it all ended because of marriage and moving to her husband in another country. She failed to become an actress there, and she could not become a housewife. And she returned to her homeland.

But the return did not bring her happiness or former glory. She was less and less invited to appear. Drinking began. Following – two more unhappy marriages (she divorced her second husband, and the third was killed). And as a result, big health problems, oncology. Irina has turned into a useless lonely old woman. And even attempts in the 2000s to return to the screens with the help of TV shows turned out to be a failure. The actress died all alone from a heart attack.
