After running away from home for a beauty pageant, she ruined her first engagement. Three of her lovers committed suicide. Italian tenor Luigi Tenko reacted with hostility to the defeat of his song at the competition in San Remo and killed himself right in the hotel. There he was discovered by a shocked singer. Then she herself almost took her own life, but she was saved.

After 90 hours in a coma, she returned to the stage again and fell in love again. The lucky one was the French artist Richard Chanfre. Together they lived for 9 years, but two years after the breakup, he also voluntarily passed away.
