Bożena Rogalska became the audience’s favorite thanks to the role of Marta Korczyńska in “Nad Niemnem”. Later she starred in one more film and left Poland. She abandoned acting when she found out that her husband had a mistress.
Bożena Rogalska graduated from the PWST in 1975. Ludwik Solski in Krakow. She immediately started performing at the Dramatic Theater. Jan Kochanowski. Later she moved to Łódź, where she was employed at the Theater. Stefan Jaracz. She made her debut on the big screen in the 1982 film “Ivy”. Later she appeared in “Idol”, “Holidays in Amsterdam” and “On the Niemen”.

The role of Marta Korczyńska in the film adaptation of Eliza Orzeszkowa’s novel was a breakthrough in Bożena’s career. To this day, her performance is remembered as the best female role. Rogalska was 34 years old at the time, and she played an excellent role as a woman much older than herself and devastated by illness. Later she could be seen in the film “Republic of Hope”. In 1987, the actress founded a wellness salon in Łódź. Three years later, she left the theater and gave up acting. Although her career seemed promising and critics were delighted with the star’s skills, she chose to live in Italy. The main reason was her husband’s infidelity.

When the actress was at university, she met a lecturer in the directing department, Bogdan Hussakowski, who was 11 years older than her. He was the director of the Dramatic Theater. Jan Kochanowski, in which he proposed Rogalska’s involvement. The couple got married. After the success of “Nad Niemnem”, it came to light that Hussakowski had started an affair with a student 23 years his junior, Joanna Jankowska. Bożena divorced Bogdan, closed her business and went abroad. On May 14, 1991, she died tragically in a car accident in Sassuolo. She was 39 years old.
