Boris Moiseev “Child of Vice” – that’s how the outrageous artist Boris Moiseev liked to call himself in his time. At times he acted like a normal child. For example, after the first manifestation of a serious illness, I was in a hurry to return to the lifestyle that I had led before. The consequences were disastrous. And a year ago, on September 27, 2022, the artist completely passed away at the age of 68.
“Do I smoke? Because I smoke”
He really worked hard. He was forced to resort to tricks in order not to lose shape. After all, the years passed. I didn’t shy away from plastic surgery.
As those who knew Boris closely say, it was difficult for him to maintain a balanced diet. No, no, yes, I snapped at junk food. And in general, the artist was not a supporter of a healthy lifestyle.
The first time it hit Moiseev unexpectedly was when he was driving in a car.
“Borya called me and said that for a second he fell asleep right at the wheel while the car was driving. He says he will go home now. I called the housekeeper and asked to urgently call an ambulance,” said the artist’s art director Sergei Gorokh.
Boris had problems with speech and his hand was lost. And yet he did not want to retire from work for a long time. I was even eager to go on tour. “He says that the stage, people are treating him. Now Borya sings at concerts to a soundtrack. But this is for now, until complete recovery,” explained Gorokh.
And Moiseev’s first producer, Evgeny Fridlyand, was horrified: “Now Borya Moiseev is a deeply sick person. What kind of tours are we talking about? No sane person would mock himself like that.”
And the artist could not give up bad habits. When I was noticed by journalists watching them, I didn’t even think about making excuses: “Do I smoke? Because I smoke.”
“Well, yes. They buried me once again”
That’s why a stroke is insidious and dangerous: after the debut you need to try very hard so that the situation does not repeat itself. Boris suffered a recurrent cerebrovascular accident, and it became clear that it would be naive to count on Moiseev returning to his profession.
He was still brave. Commented on the rumors:
“Well, yes. They buried me once again.” I lived on royalties and thanks to the help of friends. He became a recluse and communicated with fans on social networks. He admitted: “I caught myself not being at all ready to be called Boris Mikhailovich.”
Many of the efforts to ensure a decent life for the seriously ill artist were taken upon by the same Sergei Gorokh. He found Boris dead. He passed away while he was at home alone. It was then that it became known: Moiseev’s case was not limited to even two strokes.
“I don’t think there’s any point in fighting.”
After the artist’s death, it turned out that Gorokh would inherit his property. This caused indignation among Moiseev’s brother, Marx Tolkach. The man is now over 80. Before his death, his brother had not seen or communicated with Boris for a long time. He convinced that obstacles were created for him in this by those around Moses.

The pusher was in a very belligerent mood: “I suspect that my brother no longer knew what he was doing. I just waved the papers.” A healthy relative of the deceased star even hired a lawyer.
And in August of this year it became known that Tolkach had changed his mind. “I am an elderly man, I have no strength left to fight. I won’t be able to fly to Russia. My health already makes it difficult to endure such trips. I don’t think there’s any point in fighting. Yes, Pea looked after his brother all these years, and I am grateful to him for that. I think it would be fair if half of Boris’s inheritance went to Sergei,” Tolkach said.
Sergei Gorokh in an interview talks about his dream of creating a museum dedicated to Boris Moiseev. He states about the apartment in which he lived and died: “It is closed, I go periodically, check, pay bills. I don’t know if it will be possible to make a memorial plaque for Boris on the house in Moscow, since according to the law, for this to happen, at least ten years must pass after the death of a famous person.”
