The unexpected death of popular actor Matthew Perry shook the whole world. His loved ones were the most shocked. It was only after two weeks that the actor’s ex-girlfriend Kayti commented on the tragedy, saying that she does not believe that Matthew just drowned in the hot tub. Several things are said to indicate this.
Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing from the series Friends died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 28, in the hot tub at his home in Los Angeles. According to the death certificate, his death occurred at exactly 4:17 p.m. What exactly caused it, however, still remains a mystery. The initial results of the autopsy showed that there was no meth or fentanyl in his body, but more detailed toxicology tests are still awaited, the newspaper reported Eonline.
Perry’s ex-girlfriend is worried that some drugs will eventually be found in his system. According to Kayti Edwards, 54-year-old Perry relapsed into drugs before his death. She told this in an exclusive interview for the newspaper The Sun.
According to the diary, 47-year-old Kayti dated Perry in 2006, became his assistant in 2011 and remained close to him even after that. Edwards is said to have recognized Perry’s return to drugs, among other things, by the fact that the actor used his alter ego “Mattman” in a social media post just days before his death. “The Mattman thing wasn’t something he did when he was sober. Mattman came out when he wasn’t sober and he kind of felt invincible,” she described.
Therefore, the woman does not believe that he drowned in a sober state. “There are a lot of things that don’t sit well with me. I don’t believe he just drowned in his hot tub. I know Matthew and I know he wouldn’t have just drowned. I think he might have taken some pills in the week leading up to it,” she claims Kayt.
Although no drugs were found at the scene of Perry’s death, this is no evidence, according to the former model. “They said there were no drugs at the site, which doesn’t surprise me because he just didn’t leave the drugs lying around,” Kayti said, noting that Perry had previously managed to swallow up to 55 pills in a single day.
Kayti last spoke with the Friends star last year shortly after he published his book Friends, Love and the Big Bang. According to her, the actor tended to be in the water when he was under the influence of drugs. “Once his neighbor in the Hollywood Hills found Matthew naked and passed out in his pool. I had to go there and get him out of the neighbor’s pool. When he was on drugs, he always wanted to be in the pool or hot tub,” she described her experience.
Life with Perry was not easy
Kayti dated the actor for a few months during which she went through some tough times with him. She revealed that she was terrified of his drug addiction. “I went home and prayed, ‘Please God, don’t let him die’. When he called me the next morning, I thanked God. It was a terrible feeling for me to leave my friend in this state and wonder if he was going to die,” she described. As his assistant, she then witnessed other challenging moments. The actor is said to have tried so hard to beat his addiction that he once glued his hands to his legs.
“When I heard that he died, I was most sorry that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him,” said Kayti. According to her, Matthew had a great fear of death. But he struggled with something inside himself all his life. “He was struggling with something very deep. It doesn’t seem like there was a problem in his childhood. He had a good childhood, his parents loved him, he had great siblings,” Kayti said. According to her, however, he took the specific cause of his problems to his grave.
Definitive confirmation of the cause of death of the popular actor should be known in a few weeks to months. According to former New York City Chief Medical Examiner and forensic pathologist Michael Baden, this indicates an unnatural death. “If Matthew Perry had died of a heart attack, it would have been immediately obvious,” Baden exclusively said Fox News Digital.
The death of “Chandler” also shocked the Czech dubbers from the series Friends. Hear what they had to say about it:
