A shooting at an Amazon Flex warehouse in a Phoenix suburb on Wednesday left the suspect dead and another person injured, authorities said.
A non-Amazon employee entered the facility in suburban Chandler and shot a contract worker at around 9:30 am, police said, adding that a second Amazon contract employee later shot the worker to death.
Authorities said the worker who was shot was hospitalized in critical condition but is expected to survive. They added that the other employee was not injured.
Police are investigating what led up to the initial shooting and have not released the names of those involved.
Amazon officials did not immediately comment on the shooting or release any information about the two contract employees.
The Chandler facility serves as a pickup zone for Amazon Flex contract drivers, who pick up packages for same-day or next-day delivery to customers.
