The traffic police warned Belarusians about “filters” and “experiments” on the roads and even in their yards. What to expect in the last week of the year?

The traffic police announced, despite the New Year holidays, events on roads throughout Belarus. And in the Gomel region they even carried out an “experiment” and a raid on households together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations. What should Belarusian drivers expect in the last week of 2023?

In Gomel, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Traffic Police staged a raid on some courtyards of the city to conduct an “experiment” to see whether rescuers would be able to get to the right place among a multitude of cars.

As a result of the “experiment,” representatives of the traffic police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations made the discovery that residents of houses park their cars on the floor of the house windows. What prevents the access of a “powerful auto-arc lift.” It reminded that cars can only be parked in yards on the side of the road opposite the house. Also, cars should not interfere with the access of operational transport. For violation of such rules, they promised to warn the first time and fine them.

But in the Mogilev region, on December 26, they promised to install “filters” on the roads. The essence of such measures is to block the road and leave only one lane, or simply narrow the lanes. Checks are carried out most often on weekends and after, and even on highways. They can stop everyone.

The traffic police of the Mogilev region explained that these “filters” will be aimed “at strengthening the discipline of road users and preventing accidents.” During the activities, the traffic police intend to identify drivers “driving a vehicle while intoxicated, as well as those who do not have a driving license.”

And throughout Belarus, all traffic police services were transferred to an enhanced operating mode. The head of the traffic police department of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Sergei Babich, said on December 20 that Belarusian drivers can expect both carrots and sticks in the last ten days of December. The State Traffic Inspectorate of the capital plans to hold “celebratory events” on the roads, but they will also catch violators. There is no doubt that the regional branches of the traffic police of Belarus will do the same.
