Nearly 15 million euros allocated for education for the year 2024.
With 3,000 students spread across 15 schools in the town, the start of the school year in Oullins-Pierre-Bénite this year is accompanied by several initiatives funded by the town. Of the 14.9 million euro budget, 276,598 euros were invested this summer in renovation work inside schools.
“We decided to go out on the whole school“expressing Jerome Morogemayor of Oullins-Pierre-Bénite.
The town hall has also pledged 30,600 euros to provide school supplies to the 1,800 students in public primary schools, or 17 euros per kit. “So that children can leave on an equal footing as much as they can”. explains Mayor LR.
At the same time, 450 calculators, with a unit value of 20 euros, were distributed at the beginning of July to CM2 students entering middle school, for a total cost of 9,000 euros.
For this start of the school year, 130 municipal agents will also be assigned to schools, including ATSEM, maintenance and catering agents, as well as extracurricular certifications. These reinforcements aim to support students on a day-to-day basis and ensure that school services work properly.
Also, the city has chosen to continue supporting families with the “Coup d’pouce sport et culture” system. This support of 60 euros per child aims to finance part of registrations for sports or cultural activities, without resource conditions, for young people from middle school to level 3.
