The situation becomes increasingly complicated: Kosta, the Greek, is now on his way to Burnt Ridge, waitress Luci has disappeared and Helen, the stranger’s only friend, is his hostage. The latter is not immediately apparent, however, as Helen and the stranger are casually going out for Mexican food and sharing a room in the motel. After all, both are on the run from something, so they might as well team up. But in an attempt to escape the clutches of Detective Inspector Lachlan Rogers (Damon Herriman) and his zealous local police officer Sergeant Lammon (Kamil Ellis), the stranger and probationary traffic cop Helen Chambers (Danielle Macdonald) are separated again. And to everyone’s horror, DI Rogers makes a fatal decision seemingly out of nowhere.
