The stranger is able to find out a few little things about himself, but his joy doesn’t last long. The sinister killer with the red cowboy hat is hot on his heels. The two of them meet in the outback town of Burnt Ridge, where – to put it as neutrally as possible – considerable personal injury and property damage occurs. Unfortunately, he still doesn’t know why the stranger should be killed in the first place. In this and in every other respect, the stranger’s (Jamie Dornan) memory still refuses to cooperate. Waitress Luci (Shalom Brune-Franklin) has also left him, and so the poor guy has no choice but to try to stay alive until his memory hopefully changes at some point. That would be nice, especially because the stranger might have even known who this strange Greek Kosta (Alex Dimitriades) is, who suddenly wants to join in the hunt for him. Kosta is rich, extremely aggressive and somehow dangerously crazy, although it is not entirely clear which of his characteristics are the cause of the others. The stranger’s survival efforts are made more difficult by the manhunt of the legendary Detective Inspector Lachlan Rogers (Damon Herriman). He, in turn, with the doggedly eager-to-learn Sergeant Lammon (Kamil Ellis) in tow, wants to track down the “man with no name” in a large-scale manhunt and bring him to justice for a murder he did not commit. The stranger sees only one way out – and that involves far-reaching and unwanted schedule changes for traffic cop on probation Helen (Danielle Macdonald).
