We are at a critical moment for the future of the epidemic in Europe. What is at stake now is whether or not there will be a tourist season this summer, at least with a minimum normality for traveling. And this is very important for many sectors, not only the hotelier, but also for the entire complementary offer. Today’s restrictions guarantee the future of many tomorrow. The tourism sector would settle for recovering 50% of the volume of 2019.
The problem is how to combine the interests of a sector as important as tourism, with the hotelier or commercial. Because the solution for some requires the participation of others. They are sectors in many cases symbiotic, which are fed by the same client. And especially important in those areas where foreign tourism is the one that matters most.

Because this year the inland tourist areas, those that are nourished by a national tourist have been able to endure with some solvency. It has become a very short season, but in some cases even with higher income than in other years, due to the impossibility of traveling abroad.
The point is that the end of the health crisis has to be coordinated, so that mobility at least within the European Union recovers. Because it must be taken into account that with the arrival of Brexit we do not know how it will affect British tourism, which may behave differently.
And this affects GDP, Economic recovery, in the employment that is generated. And it is precisely at this time of year that historically unemployment figures have dropped the most. Hopefully at least with the time that people have been waiting to travel at least it will last into an autumn with more trips than usual.
The question is how many companies in the sector will last until summer. Will the recovery start sooner if the Inserso trips return after being vaccinated as part of the population at risk? It’s not that I’m the highest-earning and highest-spending customer, but it’s a help and a start.
We all want to turn the page forget about 2020 go ahead with our companies, our jobs and remember only 2020 as a bad dream or in the worst case, a mortgage that will be paid in business for the next five years.
