Today 6 July ‘Michele Merlo’ is back on trend Twitter: many fans, artists and acquaintances who remembered ‘Mike Bird’ (stage name with which he presented himself in the talent show of Canale Cinque). His too girlfriend, Luna Program Russia, 21 and a student, recalled the young man with a touching post.
The girl posted among his own Stories Instagram a photo of Michele driving, accompanying the shot with an excerpt from the late artist’s poem. That same poem that was also mentioned during the funeral. “I’m afraid of love, not the rest,
but I don’t let it go because this is my dream even if it hurts a lot. We live, remember, suffer forever like swallows in the storm “: so Luna on her social accounts.
The girl and Merlo had started a relationship a few months earlier. She recently told the same Luna who had explained that the first contact took place on Instagram. A word pulled another and then there was the first meeting. Since then a thriving and soulful bond began, broken by the tragic epilogue that came on 6 June last, at the Maggiore hospital in Bologna, where the singer’s heart stopped beating.
Deep pain also for mum and dad Merlo. Domenico and Katia, these are the names of the two parents of the artist, declared in a recent interview released along the pages of Di Più that the death of their son took away the “Reason to live”. It is recalled that Michele was an only child.
During the interview Domenico also spoke of the difficulties encountered by ‘Mike’ in the world of music. In particular he revealed that he was very disappointed for the no received at the auditions of X Factor e Sanremo Young. On the other hand, he stressed that he had never stopped fighting to pursue his dream: to make and live on music. That dream is gone now, shattered by a cursed fulminant leukemia.
