Torch parade in the Lenteng Agung area, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, it took place lively. The torch parade proceeded in an orderly manner with a police escort.
“(Guarded) to provide security guarantees,” said Jagakarsa Police Chief Kompol Multazam Lisendra to journalists, Saturday (18/3/2023).
In the Jagakarsa area itself there are 6 locations for the torch relay. Apart from the Lenteng Agung Village, the torch relay was also held in Cipedak and Ciganjur Villages.
Traffic at the location was a bit congested because of this torch relay. However, Multazam said the torch parade which lasted until 22.00 WIB was running in an orderly and conducive manner.
“The situation is conducive,” said Multazam.
Apart from the Jagakarsa area, the torch relay was also held in Mampang Prapatan and Tebet, South Jakarta. Meanwhile, the torch relay points in the Mampang and Tebet areas are as follows:
1. Pondok Jaya Complex (Road Bangka 8 to Jalan Bangka 9).
2. Tegal Parang Village, Mampang Prapatan.
3. Bukit Duri Village, Tebet (As-Suwari Mosque)
4. Bukit Duri Village, Tebet (Al-Hidayah Mosque).
Meanwhile, South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said that his party also involved the RW Police in securing the torch relay.
“We urge people to respect each other in their activities on the road, and continue to comply with traffic signs and existing rules,” said Ade Ary.
