Like every year, The team says a little more about the financial health of each French club, especially in Ligue 1. This season, the national sports daily dealt with the case of the Girondins de Bordeaux, although it is in Ligue 2.
Today, and while the Club au Scapulaire has the biggest budget in the second division, the club’s wage bill is estimated at 12 million euros. A tidy sum but which has nothing to do with the payroll of the team which brought the Club down to Ligue 2 last season. Indeed, in 2021-2022, the FCGB’s payroll was 35 million euros (!). The descent will at least have had the benefit of cleaning up, and we thus understand the work that has been done at this level. As you might expect, the captain of the Girondins is the highest paid player in the professional squad. Here is the Top 5 highest paid players according to L’Equipe estimates:
- Yoann Barbet : 70000€ monthly gross
- Fransérgio : 65000€ gross monthly
- Vital Building : 65000€ gross monthly
- Josh Maja : 63000€ monthly gross
- Clement Michelin : 60000€ gross monthly
It should be noted, however, that if the Girondins de Bordeaux do not pay his salary in full (Lecce takes the majority), Remi Oudinstill under contract with the FCGB, has a salary of more than €100,000 gross monthly.
