It is all the more gratifying that numerous companies act as role models.

Diversity and inclusion are as important to employees as compensation and benefits

Diversity and inclusion are just as important to employee satisfaction in Germany as compensation and benefits – this has been demonstrated by a recent Glassdoor studio. As a result, the topic has also gained importance for employers, as a grateful work environment contributes significantly to the company’s success.

However, many employees still see the need to catch up in the area of ​​diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This is demonstrated by the Glassdoor survey, conducted in April among 2,000 full-time employees in Germany. 61% of respondents believe their employers need to do more to tackle the gender pay gap.

More than half of the respondents say the same is true for the pay gap due to disabilities (56%) and ethnic groups (51%). About a third are under the impression that the crown pandemic has actually widened the wage gap.

The IT sector is the winner of the ranking

Glassdoor’s economic research team has compiled a ranking of the top 25 German companies in the area of ​​diversity and inclusion. The IT industry has won, as twelve of the top 25 companies are pioneers in this field.

IT company Salesforce took the top spot. At the beginning of the year, the company ranked first in the Glassdoor ranking of the best employers in Germany 2022. In second place was Sartorius in the biotechnology sector, followed by Bain & Company in the management consulting sector.

In addition to Salesforce, three other companies are represented in the ranking that have also entered the Glassdoor winners list of the best employers in Germany: SAP, the Deutsche Börse Group and Personio.

Famous companies such as Nokia and Ford also rank

Famous companies like Nokia in 10th place, Ford in 19th place and Schneider Electric in 20th place can also expect a finish. With Hugo Boss (22nd place) and Puma (24th place), two large retailers also entered the top 25. But the start-ups also achieved good results: the Berlin start-up Contentful was ranked in ninth place and HR start-up Personio at twelfth.
