The Togliatti model received a 1.8 Evo engine (122 hp) and a Chinese CVT. Prices start from 1.589 million rubles.
The 1.8 engine existed in the Vesta engine line before, but two years ago such a unit disappeared due to the large number of European components. Now the engine returns under a new name – 1.8 Evo. The characteristics have not changed, the output is still 122 hp. and 170 Nm. The prefix “Evo” in the name means the replacement of Western parts with components from “Eastern partners”. In total, the engine received 25 new and modified parts (for example, pistons, fuel rail, catalytic converter, etc.).
The variator was received from a Chinese supplier, whose name is not officially mentioned, but there is no big secret here: this is the same box as on the Omoda S5 and naturally aspirated Chery – CVT18 manufactured by WanLiYang. However, the software is its own. The unit is capable of simulating the operation of a seven-speed gearbox. It is noted that this transmission allows the use of engine braking, and when accelerating it provides acoustic comfort (that is, the engine will not constantly operate at high speeds, which happens in cars with a CVT). The belt in the box is steel. The CVT has a torque reserve: it is designed for 180 Nm, while the engine produces 170 Nm at its peak.
The new power unit comes in all trim levels and with all body types. The most affordable option is a sedan in the basic Comfort version for 1,588,900 rubles. The increase in price relative to a similar car with a 1.6 engine (106 hp) and a manual transmission is 75,000 rubles.
The most expensive option is the Vesta SW Cross station wagon for 2,127,900 rubles.
