Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

The TNI revealed the identity of its member who allegedly defected and joined the Free Papua Organization (OPM) TPNBP was Pratu Lukius Y Matuan, a member of the Yon Infantry 400 Raider.

Lukius is alleged to have joined the OPM led by Sabinus Waker which operates in the Intan Jaya Regency area of Papua.

“It is true that currently Pratu Lukius, who was previously a member of Yonif Raider 400, joined the KKB (Armed Criminal Group / label given by the police to OPM),” said Assistant Operations for Kogabwilhan III Brigadier General Suswatyo to AMONG, Friday night.

He stated that Lukius had been assigned to Intan Jaya Regency from August 2020 to March 2021.

Brigadier General Suswatyo stated that Lukius was thought to have fled since February 12 without carrying a weapon, and is currently considered a traitor and is on the list of KKB members in Intan Jaya.

“The security apparatus will certainly take action if they find it,” said Brigadier General Suswatyo.

The data compiled states that Pratu Lukius Matuan is a member of Infantry Battalion 410 who is seconded to Raider 400 and both are under Kodam 4 / Diponegoro. He is accused of making friends with pro-KKB accounts in cyberspace.

Previously, TPNBP OPM Spokesperson Sebby Sambom said that a TNI member who served at the Bulapa Post decided to join the OPM. He claimed that the decision made by TNI members was because they could not stand the attitude of the TNI which often shot at Papuan civilians.

“(Joined) since February 2021 because he saw TNI members like to shoot civilians, including priests,” said Sebby.

The TNI stated that there were two options for its members who had defected, namely surrendering and rejoining the Republic of Indonesia and building Papua, or being pursued by TNI members.
