The three-way debate between Yolanda Díaz, Santiago Abascal y Pedro Sanchez It was much calmer than the tense face to face with Alberto Núñez Feijóobut it was not free of lies. These are all the lies (or ‘half-truths’) that were thrown in this three-way talk.
What lies were told in the debate between three of RTVE
“You have managed to approve many things with your allies. In fact, with the patriotism of Bildu, that very respectable political force, you have approved a labor reform,” Santiago Abascal.
It’s a lie because EH Bildu voted against the labor reform. That’s how they made it look so much Yolanda Diaz as Pedro Sanchez.
“Never before have we had so many young people employed and the lowest youth unemployment rate,” Pedro Sanchez.
It is not true because the number of young people employed in the third quarter of 2005 stood at 2,145,500 people. Instead, The data for the first quarter of 2003 speaks of 1,105,400 people.
“We have more workers in agriculture than ever, 750,000,” Yolanda Diaz.
It is false because The maximum number of employees in the agriculture sector was recorded in 2008 according to the Active Population Survey (EPA).
“You hide from us that inflation under your mandate has increased by a cumulative 16%; and in food, by 31%; and by 22% in footwear,” Santiago Abascal.
It is false because Footwear inflation from June 2018 to June 2023 has increased ‘only’ 7%. Accumulated inflation has increased by 15.5% and food by 30.1%.
“In their program what they defend (…) is to prohibit strikes and collective bargaining,” Yolanda Diaz.
Vox actually points out that “effectively the right to labor by prohibiting the coercive actions of political strikes“.
“If a man perceives himself as female and has just passed through a town in Madrid, he can take away a woman’s reserved place in the public service,” Santiago Abascal.
The case that the Vox politician tells, which occurred in Torrelodones (Madrid), was not as he comments. The person did not apply for any place reserved for women.
“In the case of Abascal and his electoral program (…) they propose to outlaw political parties, they want to repeal the state of the autonomies and put an end to co-official languages,” Pedro Sanchez.
Although the program it does mention the illegalization of parties that seek to destroy the territorial unity of Spain, It does not explicitly say that it repeals the autonomies. Proposes the modification of the law that regulates the financing system of the autonomous communities to ensure “the essential equality between Spaniards in the taxes transferred“. Nor does it literally propose to end the co-official languages, but it guarantees the use of Spanish throughout the national territory.
“The Law against Gender Violence, a law that does not reduce the murders of women,” Santiago Abascal.
Yes, fatalities have been reduced; In 2004, 72 women were murdered at the hands of their partners or ex-partners; In 2022, the number dropped to 49.
