Can Walking Really Help You Shed Pounds? One Fitness Influencer Says Yes!
Walking – it’s free, accessible to almost everyone, and requires absolutely no special equipment. Could this simple activity actually be the key to unlocking your weight loss goals?
Online fitness coach Alex (@alexx.fitt on TikTok) shares her own personal success story, detailing how she lost a significant 40 pounds solely through the power of walking.
"I lost 40 pounds just by walking," she states enthusiastically. "Here’s how I did it and here’s how you’re going to start losing weight by walking."
Rather than tackling one long, daunting walk each day, Alex recommends breaking it down into smaller, more manageable chunks.
"Start small," she advises. "Opt for shorter walks throughout the day rather than one long one.”
During her weight loss journey, Alex incorporated three walks into her daily routine. A brisk walk before breakfast, another after lunch, and a final, longer walk after dinner.
“If you’re at school or work, I know you’re able to get outside and get your body moving," she adds. "This helps your food digest, it helps get rid of bloating – everything!”
Short walks throughout the day are easier to manage than one long trek.

Her ultimate goal? Hitting 10,000 steps per day. This might sound intimidating, but Alex emphasizes that it doesn’t have to be achieved in one go. Spreading those steps throughout the day makes achieving this goal seem much more attainable.
