Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to AS Roma in recent days. But the case should not materialize, according to the Italian daily Corriere dello Sport. The Italian tabloid list three reasons why the transfer won’t be able to go through.
First of all, the Portuguese international is already 37 years old and would like a two-year contract, at least, which does not satisfy the leaders of the Giallorossi. Then there is the salary component. The five-time Golden Ball receives 23 million euros net per season and AS Roma would not be open to paying even half of this sum per season.
Apart from the salary, there is always the question of José Mourinho. The relationship between the coach and CR7 experienced some tense moments at Real Madrid, when the two crossed paths. And there AS Roma does not want any tension between two figures of capital and preponderant importance within the club.
