The European Football Association (UEFA) announces the shortlist of the 3 nominees for the best player in Europe for 2022.
The European Football Association (UEFA) announced today, Friday, the final list of players nominated for the award for the best player in Europe for 2022.
The shortlist included 3 candidates, the Spanish duo of Real Madrid, Belgian international goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, and French striker Karim Benzema, in addition to Manchester City and Belgium playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.
Despite winning several titles with Liverpool, the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah was not in the top 5, as he was ranked seventh, in addition to the absence of the Portuguese duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentine Lionel Messi in the last list of 15 candidates, due to the decline in their level during the period Last.

The winner of the European Player of the Year award will be announced on August 25 in Istanbul, Turkey, during the draw ceremony for the group stage of the new season of the Champions League.
