A new episode of “Die Drei von der Müllabfuhr” is running on ARD today (May 14th, 2021). “Operation Miethai” picks up on the current housing situation in Germany.
In the new part of the “Operation Rental Shark” series, “Captain” Werner Träsch and his team are having a hard time again. A wild pile of junk on a public sidewalk and a condescending homeowner – “The Three of the Garbage Collection” have little understanding for that.
The ARD shows the new episode tonight (May 7th, 2021) at 8.15 p.m. The last episode “Die Streunerin” attracted over 4.42 million viewers in front of the screens, the market share was 14.1 percent – well above the average of the ARD.
“The three from the garbage disposal” (ARD): The plot of “Operation Miethai”
In the affected building, in front of which the “captain” and his crew have to ensure order, the house blessing hangs hugely crooked, which quickly dawns on the garbage collectors. They realize that the unfriendly homeowner Waselitzki is doing everything to “de-rent” his apartments – and then re-rent them at exorbitant prices. Resistance is stirring among the residents.
Graffiti appears on the facade of the house that makes Waselitzki ridiculous as a ruthless frog prince with a mustache. By pure chance, garbage man Tarik discovers who is behind the graffiti: his former friend Chris, who hides behind the pseudonym “Flash”. He and his girlfriend Lea Waselitzki want to put a stop to the trade – the three from the garbage disposal do not hesitate and help wherever they can.

To make matters worse, the “Captain” and his crew get themselves into trouble. After a hectic clearance operation at an art gallery, the main attraction and the core of the exhibition, an avant-garde installation, are suddenly missing. The suspicion of having accidentally disposed of the metal part falls on art lover Ralle of all people. “Captain” Werner immediately wants to help the desperate gallery owner Eddi. He doesn’t understand anything about art – but he has an excellent flair for creative problem solving.
“Die Drei von der Müllabfuhr” (ARD): The cast of “Operation Miethai”
“Captain” Werner Träsch will of course be played by Uwe Ochsenknecht again. His roles in “Das Boot” and “Männer” from the 80s remain unforgettable to this day. Next to him, Jörn Hentschel plays his colleague Ralle Schieber. Hentschel was originally a theater actor, but since 2003 he has been seen in supporting roles with strong character. Aram Arami completes the team for “The Three from Garbage Collection”. The Berliner became known through “Fack ju Göhte” and the follow-up films.
In “Operation Miethai” the garbage collectors have to deal with the unscrupulous Waselitzki, played by Rainer Reiners. He has been seen several times on ARD, among others in some Tatorten, the series “Berlin, Berlin” and in the TV drama “Berlin is in Germany”. Tarik’s buddy Chris is played by Max Woelky, who became known as a policeman on the ZDF series “Da geht Kalle”. All actors at a glance:
