The TFC faced, this Saturday, July 30, Clermont Foot 63, as part of the preparation of the two teams. Of the two 90-minute matches that were scheduled, the TFC lost: 0-1 and 0-2.
They do not have to flush, because the Violets have achieved a very satisfactory pre-season in terms of results. TFC opposed Clermont twicethis Saturday, July 31, 2022 in Aurillac, and bowed twice. The first friendly meeting between the starting teams ended in a 0-1 (75′, Gastien). The second, between the substitute and youth teams, on a 0-2 (32′, Massolin ; 73′, Chader).
Clermont has therefore removed the possibility for the TFC to end its preseason in invincibility. But the results remain very positive : five wins (Nîmes, Troyes, Pau, Real Sociedad, Montpellier), a no1 (Osasuna), and a failuretherefore, facing the Auvergnats.

For the first match, Toulouse coach Philippe Montanier has chosen a starting XI which could be the same as the one that will start the Ligue 1 season. Indeed, the TFC will host Nice on August 7 (to find Clermont, you will have to wait until September 4).
