A mother from Lyon filed a complaint last November against a Lyon nursery after discovering traces on the face of her four-month-old infant. She looks back on this event and her fight.
Already six months that Emilie accumulates photos, consultation form, minutes and formal notice. Six months that this mother of a family fights so that justice takes care of her complaint filed last November for “assault and injury” against a Lyon crèche of the People&Baby network.
A week after the death of an 11-month-old baby in a Lyon nursery, tongues are loosening. Former employees of the People&Baby network and parents today denounce the conditions in which the children are welcomed.
“Purplish red color, hematoma”
Émilie is the proud mother of little Louise, only four months old. She and her husband had entrusted their little piece to the employees of a People&Baby crèche, before becoming disillusioned. Indeed, the couple is convinced that their infant was the victim of beatings last November.
“Lesion on the forehead on the right with linear, vertical and horizontal traces. Purplish red color. Hematoma.” The mother tells BFM Lyon the doctor’s results after consulting. “It’s appalling, she breathes. It’s scary.”
In November 2021, the parents decide to open the doors of a medical office after noticing traces on Louise’s face when leaving the crèche.
“The worker said to my husband: ‘oh yes, in fact, Louise was bitten by another child, explains Emilie. When we arrived at the house, when we lit up the room, we saw temple marks that did not look like child bite marks at all.”
The couple tries to understand what really happened between the four walls of the establishment. According to them, the nursery staff would have changed their version of the facts three times. Emilie and her spouse therefore decide to file a complaint. They are still waiting for answers today.
A worker leaves the nursery “four days after this incident”
In addition to these marks, the mother of the family denounces the incompetence and the management of the teams. “The director left after two weeks. Of the three other people, one suffered from lumbago, but she was not replaced,” reports Emilie. Her little Louise was therefore in the hands of two workers “including the one who left four days after this incident with my daughter”.
Collapsed by the tragedy, the couple will relaunch their actions against the company and hope for collective action to close the establishments in the sector.
