The Ministry of Transport said today in a statement that the first part of the first phase extends from Ataba station to Kit Kat station with a length of 4 km, which includes (4) tunnel stations, namely (Nasser – Maspero – Safa Hegazy – Kit Kat), passing through the Along the Nile tunnel from Maspero station to Safaa Hegazy station in Zamalek, after the trial period ended without passengers and carrying out train running experiments, signals and tests path control.

He pointed out that the trial period without passengers lasted 3 months and the trial period with passengers will be one month, with the official opening of the actual operation with passengers during COP activities on November 27, in addition to the inauguration of numerous other electric traction projects.

The minister’s visit began with a visit to the Nasser station, which is an interchange station with the first subway line, which will have a total surface area after the opening of this section of 10,000 square meters, consisting of 4 floors, and consisting of 52 ticket gates, 4 automatic ticket machines (TVM) for obtaining tickets and the number of stairs 37. Electricity from the street level to the station platforms.

The Minister of Transport announced that this phase has been implemented at the highest level of quality: the stations are equipped with air conditioning, there are screens on the platforms to inform passengers of train arrival times and have lifts, escalators, passages of entrance and exit, they are also equipped with special arrangements to accommodate specific people, given the availability of 2 electric lifts in each station A from the street level to the sidewalks, which have prominent plates to facilitate movement.

The minister inspected the rest of the stations independently, one of the trains between each two stations, which started at Maspero station and then Safaa Hegazy, and was received by a number of people from Zamalek and the Sharbatly building. , who presented him with flowers and the accompanying delegation, and thanked the President for these gigantic projects that facilitate the movement of citizens and then Kit Kat.

The minister stressed that this project will be at the service of this area, characterized by a high population density.During his inspection tour, he reassured about the presence of all the crews of the operating company and the readiness of the stations to operate, receive and provide the highest level of service to the public.

The minister thanked the French state, the French government and French companies for their fruitful cooperation in carrying out metro projects, as well as the European Union and its member states in positive cooperation in various transport sectors, as well as the Egyptian companies that carry out metro projects such as Arab Contractors and Orascom.

He stressed that the operation of these stations today takes place in implementation of the president’s directives to serve the people of the areas that the project is going through and to facilitate their various movements, stressing that this project is not the end but the beginning of the completion of huge projects for green and environmentally friendly electric mass transport, such as the fast electric train network and the completion of phase The third and fourth for the electric light rail, the completion of the second and third part of the third phase of the third subway line, the implementation of the fourth subway line, the sixth line, the monorail projects, the Abu Qir express bus and subway, and the rehabilitation of the sand tram, all of which are environmentally friendly means of transport.

He pointed out that the operation of these stations occurs in conjunction with the celebrations of the Egyptian state of the glorious victory in October, and this project is one of the modern green mass transports that will serve the new republic whose rules have been established by President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, who directed the expansion of the completion of the metro network in parallel with the construction of a network. Giant transport is one of the environmentally friendly electric traction vehicles, which constitutes an important qualitative leap in mass transport in Egypt.

Which is estimated at 36,000 kilograms of carbon emissions per day and 13,000 tons per year for a distance of only 4 km, is the length of the first part of the third phase of the third metro line and has the following factors (close distances between stations with an average of 1 km between every two stations – the creation of the tunnel route in the narrow and high streets in the wide and shallow streets in isolated places according to the urban planning of the territory and the type of soil

This is done in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to operate the first part of the third stage of the third passenger metro line in celebration of the glorious holidays of 6 October, and to facilitate the movement of people in the areas surrounding the High Court and the Maspero areas of Zamalek and Kit Kat.
