The Tesla Model Y crossover will have a European version

Tesla will create a new modification of the Crossover Model Y that will be different from the American version.

Tesla CEO Ilon Mask has revealed that another modification of the Model Y will be created for the European market, which will “differ significantly in its design”. Masks does not say anything more, promising more detailed information on September 22, when the company plans to present the latest technologies in the field of battery development.

The ocean version of the Tesla Model Y began shipping to customers this spring. At the beginning of March, one of the copies of the electric crossover was destined to become a Tesla anniversary car reaching the first million.

Tesla Model Y is a compact crossover with Tesla 3 units. It is equipped with two electric motors and is offered with batteries of different capacities. The electric car’s top version can accelerate to a hundred in 3.5 seconds and have a top speed of 250 km per hour. With fully charged batteries, the vehicle will travel more than 450 kilometers.

Earlier, Ilon Mask promised to open a new design center in Europe, where cars will be developed mainly for the local market. It is planned to place such a studio in the future German Gigafabrik 4.

Tesla’s new plant Gigafabrika 4 will be located in a green area outside Berlin. Construction of the plant began in early 2020, but in March the company was forced to lay off its American employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the plant expected to open next year. In addition to the Model Y, the new company will produce the most affordable Tesla electric car – the Model 3, as well as battery kits for electric cars.
