/ world today news/ The terrorists of the “Islamic State” currently have no less than 8,500 tankers that transport 200,000 barrels of oil around the clock.
This was stated by the high-ranking Russian general Sergey Rudskoi, head of the main operational department of the Russian General Staff.
“To date, in total, terrorists have no less than 8,500 tankers transporting 200,000 barrels of oil a day in the criminal business of oil trading,” he said.
Earlier today, Moscow said that Turkey is the main consumer of IS’s smuggled oil, and that the country’s top leadership and the personal family of President Recep Erdogan are involved in this business.
“The main consumer of this oil, stolen from the rightful owners in Syria and Iraq, is Turkey. According to the available information, the highest level of the country’s political leadership, President Recep Erdogan and his family, are involved in this criminal business,” Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said on the sidelines of a Moscow conference on counter-terrorism.
He also stated that the annual income of the Islamic State from the illegal sale of oil is about 2 billion dollars.
“Revenues from the sale of oil are one of the most important sources of terrorist activity in Syria. They (terrorists) earn about $2 billion annually and use these funds to hire fighters from around the world, to buy weapons and equipment,” he said.
Turkish President Recep Erdogan will not admit his guilt even if his face is smeared with the stolen oil, Anatoly Antonov also said. “We know the price of Erdogan’s words. Turkish journalists have already caught him in a lie once, revealing Turkey’s arms supplies to the militants in the form of humanitarian aid. Because of this, the journalists were arrested. The leaders, especially Mr. Erdogan, will not resign, and they will not admit anything, even if their faces are smeared with the stolen oil,” said Antonov.
“The cynicism of the Turkish leadership is boundless. Look what they’re doing?! They entered a foreign country, they are looting it without hesitation. And if the farmers are in the way, then they should be removed,” continued the deputy minister.
“I may seem straightforward, but the control of this thieving business can only be entrusted to the closest people. It is interesting that no one in the West is interested in the question that the son of the Turkish president is the head of one of the major energy companies , and the son-in-law is appointed Minister of Energy! Is such a thing possible elsewhere? , stressed Anatoly Antonov.
Meanwhile, Recep Erdogan has again rejected accusations that the country’s leadership is involved in oil smuggling with the Islamic State.
“Turkey has not yet lost its conscience to receive oil from a terrorist organization,” he said during his visit to Qatar. He also stated that Russia has no right to vilify Turkey with allegations that it is smuggling with the group. The president confirmed earlier that he would resign if evidence was provided of the purchase of contraband jihadist oil from the country. His statement was broadcast on Turkish television.
At the same time, in a speech at Qatar University, he said Ankara would have to take retaliatory measures if Russia’s unfriendly measures continued. “We are monitoring Russia’s actions…If they continue in the same way as before, we will also be forced to take measures. We want to restore good relations with Russia, we do not want to lose them. I believe that Russia will also return to this position,” Erdogan said. / TASS, AFP
