Celebrity couldn’t beat addiction.
Stanislav Khitrov became famous throughout the country thanks to the role of Fili Egorov in “Girls”. Subsequently, the artist appeared in many other films and then suddenly disappeared from the screens. As it turned out, the artist began to abuse alcohol.
The fact is that after the 70s, the popular actor was no longer invited to play the main roles. Work became less and less, which affected the well-being of the Khitrov family. The unexpected changes were a major blow to the celebrity, so he started drinking more and more.
Such behavior did not suit Khitrov’s wife, Galina, who once could not stand it and left home with her common son. Subsequently, the artist became more and more drunk and eventually completely ruined his life, even though he tried to be treated in drug treatment clinics.
The actor died in the spring of 1985. He was returning from another night with friends when he fell and broke his leg. For several hours, the former screen star lay in the mud on the side of the road until caring people took him to the hospital. However, there were no vacancies in the clinic, so he was placed right in the corridor and, due to drafts, he developed pneumonia. The body of the artist, in which no one recognized the cheerful Yegorov for a long time, turned out to be so weak that in the end he could not overcome the disease. The famous actor was only 48 years old.
