The fever rose in Lyon on Tuesday for the first evening of Euro football. The meeting kicked off at 9 p.m.

“We’re full for the game. We only put tables of six. Tonight, it is full barrier gestures. We don’t want to close, so all the customers will have to play along, ”testified the manager of a bar on this lively street, near Place Bellecour.
And to continue: “We put white tarpaulins to hide the interior, because as we only broadcast inside, we want to avoid the crowds of people who would stick to the windows, for example. “

Tom and Côme, both 18, were looking for a table in a bar to watch the match, in the Hôtel-Dieu area. “We haven’t booked so it’s going to be a bit of a hassle,” the two friends confided. They are however pleased with the tolerance granted for the curfew at the end of the match.

Air-conditioned room
Rue de la République, a sign indicated the direction of a bar which broadcasts the meeting. Latecomers were able to seize their chance.

This is the Antonio e Marco pizzeria, run by Marco and Filippo, rue des Quatre Chapeaux. The two managers have prepared an air-conditioned room upstairs for customers to follow the game, enjoying an evening “around pizza and beer”. They can only accommodate 20 people, because of the gauge to be respected. The watchword: distance and barrier gestures.

A little over an hour before kick-off, the terrace of the Republic was full. About thirty people lined up, hoping that a table would become available.

At Ninkasi Gerland, the usually full terrace was only 80% full on Tuesday evening. And for good reason, everyone was inside. Three rooms were dedicated to the broadcast of the match. The distances were respected.

Meanwhile, at the Duboeuf stadium, in Bron, the only fan-zone of the Métropole de Lyon was gradually filling up. At 8 p.m., there were already people there.
