Scientists from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York have confirmed the existence of long-term immunity in people who have recovered from COVID-19 and found out how long it lasts. This is reported by Science magazine.

Scientists conducted a study in which 30,082 people with COVID-19 took part. They passed a curse on the detection of antibodies. It turned out that 90% had antibodies to the coronavirus. Their level remained stable for five months. Reportedly, their concentration directly correlated with the degree of neutralization of SARS-CoV-2.

Scientists have tried to find out whether it is possible to maintain immunity to COVID-19 for a long time. As a result, the study refuted the version that antibodies quickly disappear and cannot protect against re-infection.

Previously, Rambler reported that the term of the greatest infectivity is named a patient with a coronavirus.-
