The Tenerife II Penitentiary Center, in quarantine due to a COVID outbreak | Radio Club Tenerife

An outbreak of COVID19 in the Tenerife II Penitentiary Center, with 40 people affected -all inmates- It has led the Tenerife prison to declare quarantine and suspend visits. Although as confirmed by Radio Club Tenerife of Cadena SER, all cases are asymptomatic.

It so happens that, the number of outbreaks detected in the Canary Islands in the last week amounted to 70, according to information from the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands.

New cases

The Canary Islands have registered 111 new cases of coronavirus this Wednesday. Specifically, Lanzarote is the island that adds the most cases, with 45 in total. Tenerife follows with 39, Gran Canaria has 21 and Fuerteventura six. In total, 1,746 active cases of coronavirus are now being treated in the Canary Islands. 50 of them are cared for in intensive care units.
