The first lorries with bridge parts arrived in Härnösand on Monday 4 March. In total, there are 18 long-haul trucks that will transport all parts to the emergency bridge, which will serve as a replacement bridge while the Nybron is replaced.
Härnösand municipality rents the temporary bridge from the Swedish Transport Administration. The fact that it comes all the way from France is due to the fact that it is a brand new bridge that was made in France and that Härnösand municipality will be the first tenant of.
The bridge is of the same type as the temporary bridge that crossed the Selångersån in Sundsvall a few years ago, from the roundabout at the sports arena over to Skolhusallén.
Actually, there are two 45 meter long bridges that are being built together over the 90 meter wide strait. The actual work begins on August 26.
