The restoration project of the Teatro Sociale carried out by the Rotary Club of Soresina was presented.
The press conference to present the restoration project of the Teatro Sociale carried out by the Rotary Club of Soresina was held on Saturday morning in the Council Room of the Town Hall of Soresina.
This is a multi-year service developed with the support of RotarAct Soresina, Operazione Musical and the municipal administration who, by joining forces, have set themselves the objective of making certain stages that present problems safe.
At the opening, the Past President of Rotary Soresina, Stefania Filippi, recalled how already last year, during the start-up phase of the service, we started alongside Operation Musical with the staging of ‘Sister Act che favola’ whose proceeds made it possible to finance the development of all the preparatory phases for the opening of the construction site, including the extensive necessary bureaucratic procedures, as we are talking about a property subject to strict constraints dictated by the competent superintendency.
The current President Enrica Cremonesi Filippi then took the floor and, speaking also on behalf of the entire Council, said she was ready to continue this commitment, supporting the Social Theater conceived as a fundamental fulcrum of local cultural life. The 2024 fundraiser will focus on the musical ‘Mamma Mia…here we go again!’ which will be staged by the Operazione Musical company next Saturday 16 November at 9pm and Sunday 17 November at 4pm. Also in this case, the proceeds obtained from the sale of tickets will be channeled into the funds necessary to start the operations of the restorers, who in the coming months will begin to work concretely, giving priority to the most damaged areas.
Pre-sales for the two days are already active and it is possible to book your place by contacting 3248238139 or by writing to [email protected]
The contribution of the municipal administration is fundamental. For this reason, Mayor Alessandro Tirloni did not fail to underline the importance of the initiative, to explain how much the municipality cares about and supports the good maintenance of the city theater and highlighted the importance of teamwork carried out together with Operation Musical and to the local Rotary Club and RotarAct, a partnership that is bringing exceptional results.
Also present was Roberto Pagliari representing Operazione Musical who, bringing the greetings of President Nicola Gregorat and the entire association, said he was enthusiastic about being able to proceed again this year by staging a show that he has already gathered, in recent months precisely at Social, important results with over 2500 spectators applauding a group of 40 actors who performed entirely live accompanied by a noteworthy stage setup. The weekend of 16 and 17 November will also be the last opportunity to attend the musical ‘Mamma Mia…here we go again!’ as the company will then focus on new productions.
The presence of Claudia Nolli, future member of the Board of Directors of Rotary Club Soresina for the year 2025-2026, was important, as she guaranteed that for the next season the club will continue to support the Theater and encourage fundraising and awareness initiatives of public opinion towards a conscious protection of the local historical/artistic heritage.
