The Teatro Chico hosts the presentation of the black novel ‘Tormenta García’ by Julieta Martín Fuentes

The City Council of Santa Cruz de La Palma, through the Department of Culture, presents this Monday, May 9, the book ‘Tormenta García’, by the writer and journalist Julieta Martín, at the Teatro Chico.

The appointment will take place at 8:00 p.m. with the author of the work, who will be accompanied by Jorge A. Liria, editor of the book; the poet and Canary Islands Prize for Literature 2022, Elsa López, and Ramón Araújo.

With this meeting, Julieta Martín will engage in a dialogue with the readers of the island of La Palma in order to outline some of the details that have led the writer to create this story inspired by real events that occurred in the city of Las Palms of Gran Canaria.

In this story, it is pointed out in a press release from the City Council of the capital, Tormenta García is “a candid soul who one day dreamed that the world was a beautiful place but had to wake up and look it in the face, and accept its miseries”. For this reason, the protagonist “decided to live, but only to find out if everything that she had ended with the life she thought she had was true.”

The cover of this new work is the creation of Manu Herrera, with which you are invited to read 359 pages of a story designed to make you enjoy and think.

The new work by Julieta Martín Fuentes unfolds over 359 pages, which has been published through Mercurio Editorial.

The mayor of Culture, Melissa Hernández, points out that with this new meeting one of the objectives of her area is consolidated, such as “promoting reading in spaces that encourage conversation, creative freedom and the dissemination of letters Canary Islands”.

Likewise, she has presented her books at the Madrid Book Fair in 2015, 2016 and 2018. This last year she was also one of the women to whom the Las Palmas Book Fair was dedicated.
