The team in Spain with players from Liga MX and the expansion league

Mexico FC is a curious project that plays in the Third Division of Spain and whose objective is to promote the talent of young Mexican footballers in Europe.

Mexico FC in Spanish football

This team was created when Mexican businessman Víctor Ferráez Gasque, along with other partners, bought the Paracuellos FC franchise a year ago. This is how Mexico FC was born, which competes in the Third Federation of the RFEF, equivalent to the fifth Spanish division. Based in Madrid, the team seeks to promote with Mexican players who are already in Spain.

Developing footballers and people

The project focuses on signing young footballers between 18 and 19 years old who have played in Liga MX or Liga de Expansión teams, in order to help them develop in Spanish football and, eventually, obtain Spanish nationality.

“We want to develop not only good footballers, but also good people and citizens who are prepared, both academically and mentally,” Ferráez said in an interview with ESPN.

Long-term aspirations

The Mexico FC project was launched in 2017 with the support of Mexican figures such as Luis García and Luis Roberto Alves Zague. Their goal is for the team to reach the Second Division in seven or eight years.

“The plan is to move up a category every two or three years, and over time, several Mexicans who have become naturalized Spaniards will play in the Second or even the First Division,” explained Ferráez.

This ambitious project seeks not only to excel in sports, but also to contribute to the personal and professional growth of young Mexican talents in European football.
