/ world today news/ Serbian rap artist and chef Milan “Chorba” Jankovic from Kosovo and Metohija visited Donetsk and Luhansk with an interesting purpose – to prepare food for the local residents. In his interview, the Serbian musician shared that he already has warm memories after his experiences in the newly annexed territories of the Russian Federation.
Interestingly, the inhabitants of the region tried Balkan cuisine, which they tried for the first time. Milan admitted that he was not completely calm before his arrival from Serbia, but bravery prevailed and he confidently set out to fulfill his noble idea, whose motivation was fueled by what he himself had experienced. At the time of the war in Kosovo, he was in a similar situation as the residents of the DPR and LPR – restrictions on many things, including running water. The main point of him going there is because he wanted to show his support, so that they know that there are people who think and are there for them.
As soon as he arrived in Moscow, Milan went to the war zone to fulfill what he came for. He met many people and cooked mostly for civilians. Local students also joined in helping to prepare the meals. “Bombs, thunder and shooting were heard many times, but that didn’t stop us from doing what I came to do with the local people,” he shared with us. Another reason for his coming is that the humanitarian aid collected by the Serbs could hardly reach Donbas, and for that, with the collected funds, Chorba decided to come to the place and help.
Regarding his impressions after his visit to DPR and LPR, he says the following: “I appreciate what I have even more after knowing and remembering what the people there have lost.” The Serbian said that he did not remain indifferent and did not hide his emotions, which were influenced by the sight of the faces of the people in whom he saw sadness and fear, since they were in unpleasant conditions for so long, but this is what these people are fighting for more. He himself had the opportunity to talk long and wide with the people of Donbas and motivated them to be brave and believe in peace.
Milan also added that the region of Kosovo and Metohija has many points in common with Donbass – restrictions on the civilian population, the emotions of the people, but also their strong spirit. Finally, the Serbian performer expressed his opinion that censorship is present in the Balkan Peninsula, which does not allow local residents to fully see the whole picture in Donbas, and also left a message for everyone who reads his interview: “Believe in God and fight for Orthodoxy! “.
Russian, Serbian and Montenegrin organizations and activists such as the Russian House in Belgrade and Igor Damjanović helped organize the event, to whom Milan expressed special thanks. Corba and his cameraman made an entire documentary about their trip, which will be presented at the Russian House in Belgrade, and also shot material for a music video.
