From the first of March, the tariff system in public transport will change, apart from the county pass and the national pass, all other passes used until now will be abolished – announced the Minister of Construction and Transport at a press conference in Debrecen on Tuesday.
János Lázár added that a new discounted daily ticket will also be introduced: the County24 daily ticket will cost HUF 999, the Hungary24 daily ticket will cost HUF 4,999, and can be used unlimitedly on all MÁV and Volán flights.
He also indicated that 22 of the 65 types of discounts so far will remain as of March 1, and all will entitle you to travel with a 50 percent discount.
The free travel discount for those over 65 will be extended to those under 14, those between 14 and 25 can travel with a 50 percent discount if they don’t buy a pass, as well as those working in the public service – education, healthcare – if they register to take advantage of the discount – explained the details by János Lázár.
He also indicated that pensioners under the age of 65 can buy a county or national pass at a discount, and those traveling with a 90 percent discount – the disabled, long-term patients and those with large families – will also travel for free on MÁV and Volán flights in the country.
