The tallest woman in the world travels by plane for the first time. Rumeysa Gelgi, 25, was able to board the plane after Turkish Airline changed the venue for her.

Rumeysa Gelgi from Turkey currently holds Guinness World Records for being the tallest living woman in the world. According to the Daily Star, her height reaches 2.15 meters.

Due to her above average height, Rumeysa has a hard time moving around. Every day the woman who works as the developer of this site is assisted by wheelchairs and canes.

This condition made Rumeysa unable to board the plane due to the limited space. But in September 2022, the Turkish airline agreed to prepare a seat for him. They removed six of the seats from the plane and replaced them with stretchers.

Believes in Gelgi Mengidap Weaver syndrome

Rumeysa has Weaver’s syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes her body to grow too fast. She is the first person in Turkey who has been diagnosed with this condition.

The woman who also broke the record as the owner of the longest finger (reaching 11.2 cm) is also the 27th person with Weaver syndrome in the world.

Rumeysa had never been on a plane before because she was too tall to occupy a normal seat on the plane. Even when she was a teenager, her height was already above average.

Rare conditions do not make Rumeysa inferior. He has managed to show that being disabled can still lead him to success, one of which is pursuing a career in information technology.

He also advised people who also have rare medical conditions: “Being different is not as bad as you think. It can actually lead to unexpected success,” she wrote.
