The Taliban criticizes US drone strikes in Kabul

The US military believes the attack on Sunday averted an immediate threat from the extremist Islamist group IS-K.

But local sources say that a number of civilians were also killed in the drone attack on a car in Kabul. Several of the victims are said to have been children.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid criticizes the attack. He confirms that civilians were killed and says the United States has no right to carry out more attacks in Afghanistan.

“If there was a potential threat in Afghanistan, it should have been reported to us,” Mujahid said in a statement to Chinese TV, quoted by the news agency. Reuters.

Before the weekend, the United States carried out a drone attack on suspected IS members in Nangarhar province. The United States went into action the day after the violent terrorist attack at the airport in Kabul.

Three civilians are said to have been injured in the attack in Nangarhar, and the Taliban have also criticized this attack.

Taliban representative Abdulhaq Wasiq said Tolo News that this type of American attack is in violation of the agreement the Taliban and the United States entered into in Qatar last year.

The US military says it is possible that civilians were killed on Sunday when the drone attack in Kabul detonated explosives in the car that was the target of the attack.
