02.12.2020 – This year’s specialist day as part of the KULTUR.LAND.SCHULE project. received a great response with around 90 participants. Teachers, school principals, pedagogical specialists, employees of the education administration and cultural actors from all over northern Germany exchanged their experiences in the context of cultural education in schools. In a variety of workshops, including how to use sketch notes, podcasts or science slams in class, the participants received ideas for their own work. In addition, Dr. Michael Retzar (University of Marburg) Insights into scientific findings on the positive effects of cultural education on student learning. Dr. Tobias Diemer (Mercator Foundation) reported on the experiences of cultural schools from other federal states. In all countries it had become clear that cultural education had to be firmly implemented in educational policy in order to be able to have a lasting and broad impact. In the roughly three-hour digital event, both the lecturers and the participants made one thing clear again and again: cultural education is sometimes a challenge, but it enriches schools and the cultural scene alike.
