The Symbolic Red Sweater Worn by Princess Diana at Polo Match: Sold for $1.1 Million

Diana wore the sweater when she attended a polo match for Prince Charles in 1981. The red sweater from the Warm & Wonderful brand depicts many white sheep and one black sheep. Media speculated at the time that the sweater was symbolic, because Diana, with her stubbornness, would be the black sheep of the royal family.

The lucky bidder will not only receive the sweater in question, but also two official letters from Buckingham Palace to the manufacturer. It states that the sweater was damaged and a request was made for a repair or a completely new sweater. Warm & Wonderful then sent a completely new sweater that Diana wore during another polo match in 1983.

Warm & Wonderful found the original sweater in the attic in March. It is that copy that has now been sold for 1.1 million dollars (just over 1 million euros).
