The war in Ukraine is a humanitarian catastrophe. Millions of people are leaving the country in fear for their lives. Affected women, children and men also arrive in Switzerland every day. The Swiss tennis family is trying to help them.

Solidarity with people who have fled Ukraine is great in all parts of the country and is reflected in various campaigns and offers. The TC Bellinzona, for example, lets Ukrainian players play on its courts for free and also offers them free training sessions.

The tennis school app Tennis, together with the TC Uitikon and the local community, has set up a special integration program for refugee children. TC Genève, on the other hand, has integrated several Ukrainians into its teams and equipped them with missing material such as racquets and shoes.

The infrastructure of the tennis hall in Burgdorf was available to the refugees free of charge on Wednesday afternoons during the spring holidays – including a trainer on site. And on the driveway, the Wildhausen-Unterwasser tennis club is holding a benefit event with double fun, a taster course and an extensive supporting program. All proceeds will be donated.

Does anyone know of other relief efforts?

Swiss Tennis is happy to receive tips and information of all kinds – via e-mail. Incidentally, nine young tennis players and their two supervisors from the Ukraine now train and live in the national performance center in Biel.
