The director of Public Health Paolo Pandolfi had announced it a few days ago: “We must expect a fluctuating pace of cases”. And so it was. Yesterday, according to the data provided by the regional daily bulletin, 357 new infections were recorded in the Bolognese area, 119 of which were symptomatic, out of a total of 15,467 swabs performed in the last 24 hours throughout Emilia-Romagna. The previous day the new positives were 453. The average age of the new positives is 46 years. With these numbers, the total number of citizens who have contracted the virus since the beginning of the epidemic between Bologna and the province has reached 37,520 infected. The percentage of new positives on the number of swabs made since yesterday is 11.6%. Unfortunately, even the death toll continues to rise and the weaker groups, especially pensioners, are always paying for it. Yesterday, thirteen other elderly people who had contracted Covid died: these are seven women (from 85 to 100 years old) and six men (from 74 to 94 years old). Finally, 49 patients are currently hospitalized in intensive care, one less than yesterday.
