TOURISM. Sugar shack lovers will have to be patient to enjoy a sugaring-off meal at the Village québécois d’antan, because the season has been postponed to spring 2023.
“The sanitary relief does not allow us to hold a profitable edition of the Sweet Village, supports Stéfany Duguay, director of communications and marketing. We are taking this opportunity to develop a new concept for next year.”
The Village québécois d’antan team wants to rethink the current formula in order to adapt to the new realities related to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We want to do things in a different way, other than a big sugar shack where everyone is glued to each other eating as much as they want.”
Thus, all efforts are concentrated on the summer season which will be both diversified and refreshing. The Youth of yesteryear will be back, including accommodation and day camp. “It will allow us to welcome apprentice villagers from all over Quebec,” says Stéfany Duguay, enthusiastically.
Moreover, the Basin will be open to the general public, unlike last summer. “In 2021, the water recovery system was not up to date. There are engineers who are currently working to allow us to be more ecological.
Remember that the Village québécois d’antan has 70 period buildings on its site located not far from the Saint-François River.
