The Swedish royal family condoles after the Kongsberg murders

At 18.13 on Wednesday night, the police received several reports that a person had shot at people with a bow and arrow in Kongsberg.

Four women and one man between the ages of 50 and 70 were killed. Three people are also injured.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the case. He acknowledges the facts of the case, but it is unclear whether he has been asked questions about criminal guilt.

On Thursday night, the Swedish royal family sent a letter of condolence to King Harald on the occasion of the horrific killings.

“The Queen and I will share our deep sympathy on the occasion of the cruel attack in Kongsberg. Our thoughts are with the affected families and the Norwegian people “, writes King Carl Gustaf, according to a press release.

“It shakes us”

Early today, King Harald and the Norwegian royal family also spoke about the tragedy.

“We are appalled by the tragic events at Kongsberg last night,” it said in a statement from King Harald on behalf of the Norwegian royal family.

Furthermore, the king said that they sympathize with the relatives and injured in the grief and despair.

“And we think of all those affected by Kongsberg who have experienced that their safe local environment suddenly became a dangerous place.”
