“There are a lot of things that don’t make sense to me,” Edwards told British tabloid ‘The Sun’. “I don’t believe he just drowned in his jacuzzi, that doesn’t sound like it’s true. I know Matthew and I know he wouldn’t have just drowned.”
No drug residues were found in the home of Perry, who was found dead in his jacuzzi at the age of 54 at the end of last month, it was previously announced. “That doesn’t surprise me, because he wouldn’t leave his medication lying around,” says Edwards, who had a relationship with Perry in 2006 and worked as his assistant in 2011. “He was quite paranoid and took them all so there was no evidence.”
Edwards believes Perry was high when he used his alter ego “Mattman” in his Instagram post a few days before his death. “Mattman only showed up when he wasn’t sober and he felt pretty much invincible,” Edwards said. According to her, Perry also liked to go into the water when he was high.
