In the Zhytomyr region, the court took into custody for two months a 59-year-old native of Russia, and now a resident of the village of Vishnevoe in the Korostyshiv region, Alexander Maltsev, who at night June 8 in Grubskoye shot the spouses… At people who were already on vacation, he fired at least nine bullets from a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Law enforcers found that the reason was a debt with interest of allegedly $ 27 thousand, which the deceased Sergei Minenko and his common-law wife Irina Garbuzenko borrowed from the suspect back in 2015. Their 10-year-old daughter witnessed the tragedy, and it was she who called the police that night, they said OBOZREVATEL in the press service GU of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region.
What is known about the suspect
Alexander Mikhailovich Maltsev, born September 12, 1962 – a citizen of Ukraine, a native of the Russian Federation (the village of Pushkarnoye, Korenevsky district in the Kursk region), registered in Kiev, but lived in the neighboring village of Vishnevoe Grubsky. The man is unemployed, has not been previously convicted.

The suspect, detained on the day of the crime, refused to testify in the case of the execution of the spouses. On June 10, the Royal District Court of Zhitomir took Maltsev into custody for 60 days. The pre-trial investigation continues.
–The motive for the murder is debt
At the place of residence of the suspect, law enforcement officers found a notebook with handwritten notes on the promissory notes of the victims. According to them, in 2015, they allegedly borrowed $ 5,800 from him. The debt grew annually due to interest on the loan and, according to Maltsev, by 2021 it has already grown to $ 27 thousand.

“So, it was established that on 06/08/2021 at about 00 hours and 25 minutes, Maltsev, with the aim of deliberately unlawfully inflicting death on Sergei Minenko, with whom there was a long-term hostile relationship due to the latter’s failure to fulfill his debt obligations, and his common-law wife Irina Garbuzenko, arrived from firearms – an AKS-74 submachine gun, equipped with live ammunition of 5.45 mm caliber, to a house in the village of Grubskoye … “- the police report says about the motive of the crime.

They emphasized that, having gone to the window of the living room of the said premises, the suspect fired at least 9 aimed shots at the spouses.
Sergei Minenko, 47, died of gunshot bullet penetrating blind wounds to the chest with damage to the left lung and heart. And the death of Irina Garbuzenko, who turned 39 years old two days before the tragedy, came from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and chest. Female died on June 9 in the hospital.

Now, in the case of the shooting of spouses in the Zhytomyr region, a number of forensic examinations have been assigned on subjects and objects that law enforcement officers seized during investigative actions at Maltsev’s place of residence and in a forest plantation nearby.
