“The Seventh Day” met Mrs. Karima, immediately after her departure and arrival in her hometown, in the city of Mahal al-Damna, Dakahlia Governorate, after the Court of Cassation acquitted her of the death sentence on charges of deliberately killing her husband with premeditation, as the people of the city welcomed her with a ceremony and sacrifices to express their happiness with the decision of the Court of Cassation.
Karima A. told Al-Youm Al-Sabea the details of her court acquittal veto From the death sentence, saying: “I married my husband, Muhammad P.I., and I gave birth to two children from him, and at the end of 2017, I suffered a fracture in my foot, and my husband came with me to the International Hospital in Mansoura, and they made a plaster splint in my feet, after that we returned to our home, and he went to his family in the city of Muniyat al-Nasr in the governorate, and my daughter fell ill, so I moved with her to the hospital to do medical examinations, and we returned home again.
And “Karima” continued: “My husband was absent from the house for a week, during which he was with his family in their hometown, after which we found him in one of the agricultural lands with the knowledge of the people, and I was surprised after that that I was accused of killing him, after his family issued a report accusing me of ending his life, and I was arrested.” And to start an investigation with me, and my trial continued for 6 years, leaving two girls without support in the world, as their father died and their mother faces the death penalty, which necessitated their placement in a care home to preserve them.
“Karima” adds: “During 6 years of litigation, their case was behind bars, including 4 years under the death penalty, wearing a red suit, and awaiting the Court of Cassation’s decision to accept or reject the cassation, but during this period I did not leave an obligation of prayer and pray to my Lord to save me because I am innocent of That charge, and with my constant fear of executing the death sentence, I did not doubt for a moment that God could save me from this crime, and I was always thinking about my girls and their fate and future after me.”
