Palworld makes a hit among the players, but Enshrouded also want a piece of the survival pie. It was released in early access on Steam yesterday and after more than 2,500 reviews has amassed a “Very Positive” rating, although some initial server glitches and crashes required two quick hotfix updates from the developers.
The game allows us to collect, build and adventure with up to 15 other players in a handcrafted (rather than procedurally generated) world. There are bosses to slay and new gear to find, but one of the main draws is the game’s versatile building system.
The goal is for the game to remain in early access for a maximum of one year, but even now the developers say that it delivers a reasonably complete experience in terms of game mechanics. During the early access period, however, they must add, among other things, new environments, new enemies and new materials.
